Gingerbread House Box:

Packaging

The overall concept of this project is to create a package design that could be used by the Jellycat brand to sell a specific Holiday themed plush. The package will be screen-printed and formed to fully demonstrate the boxes use.

  • Adobe Illustrator

  • Adobe Photoshop

  • Procreate

  • Screen-Printed (Screen, Ink, Paper)

Programs Used:

  • 3D Package for a plush

Deliverable

For the design I started out with color, sticking with the brands blue, orange, black, and white to stay on brand. I also wanted to incorporate house elements, holiday decorations, and icing details to be reminiscent of the Tree Cookie’s holiday vibe.

Flat Design

Included on the back for selling purposes is the name of the plush, ‘Amuseables Tree Cookie’, a description of the plush’s personality, as well as a price and website. The logo and barcode are added for more realness. The plush is going to nestle inside with feet out and face displayed through the arch.

3D Package

This package was laser cut, screen printed, and then formed to create the box you see below! Here are some product images showing the box with the plush inside and empty.

Final Thoughts

What I learned from this project was how to design around a specific size template. This project also needed a lot of patience to make test boxes, design the back, and set up to screen-print.
